Minimum of one year of related physiotherapy experience.
Licensed to practice Physiotherapy will be an added advantage.

Position Summary:
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessments, treatments, and reports to patients, insurance companies, businesses, consultants and intermediary companies associated with AKAM Nature Care.
KEY RESPONSIILITIES:
Perform treatment techniques to improve patient mobility, including breathing and relaxation techniques, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and soft tissue techniques, electrotherapy modalities; gait training, pain management, cold/heat therapy.
Perform appropriate assessment on all patients related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments. Access, evaluate, diagnose and plan an individualized exercise program as well as provide education to enable the patient to self-manage their condition.
Provide assessment, education as well as self-management programs to support patients with obesity, diabetes, arthritis and other chronic diseases.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family.
Adapt practice to for each individual patient, including due regard for cultural, social, and linguistic differences in addition to any disabilities.
Develop treatment plans according to patient’s individual needs, history profile, and symptoms.
Provide consultation sessions on physical health improvement, in accordance with regulatory requirements, and credentialing requirements.
Follow-up on patient’s progress and response to exercise programs, to identify needed program change.
Monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention.
Be professional, legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the patients in your care.
Access patients’ needs for any rehabilitative equipment and aids to improve safety and functioning within the home.
Train patients, carers, family members and other agencies on the use of any equipment issued.
Discuss services and treatment options to potential clients.
Ensure that clients are involved in the planning and prioritization of their rehabilitation plans.
Commit to developing skills beyond one’s own professional training.
Participate in the teaching and training of staff and other professionals as agreed.
Assist with the planning, development and implementation of new musculoskeletal physiotherapy services.
Make recommendations for, and lead service development and improvements.
Provide specialist spontaneous and planned advice, teaching and instruction to patients to promote understanding of the aims of physiotherapy and to ensure a consistent approach to patient care.
Work in collaboration with the Medical Consultant and other health professionals in response to identified patient need.
Ensure that all operations comply with Physiotherapy codes of professional conduct at all times.
Be responsible for personal continuous professional development by the use of self-education, reflective practice and active participation in the in-service training program.
Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records, reports and statistics at all times in line with departmental, professional and legal standards.
